Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another and Ryan Coogler's Sinners dominated the BAFTA nominations for the 2026 Film Awards, announced on Tuesday. One Battle After Another leads with 14 nominations, including Best Film, Director, and Adapted Screenplay. This is the second-highest number of nominations ever received by a single film, behind Richard Attenborough's Gandhi, which earned 16 in 1983.
Sinners follows closely with 13 nominations, including Best Director and Original Screenplay for Ryan Coogler. Michael B. Jordan receives his first BAFTA nomination in the Best Actor category, while Wunmi Mosaku is nominated for Best Actress. Other films with strong showings include Hamnet and Marty Supreme, each with 11 nominations.
Frankenstein and Sentimental Value each earned eight nominations, while Bugonia and the British box office hit I Swear received five. British titles The Ballad of Wallis Island and Pillion each secured three nominations. Eight first-time nominees appear in the performance categories, including Jordan, Robert Aramayo, Odessa A'zion, Rose Byrne, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Stellan Skarsgård, Teyana Taylor, and Chase Infiniti, who is also nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star Award.
The 2026 BAFTA Film Awards will take place on 22 February. The full list of nominations includes films such as 28 Years Later, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, Die My Love, and H Is for Hawk, among others.
