Arsenal have completed the signing of Georgian teenager Andria Bartishvili, who arrived in London on Wednesday for his medical, while Gabriel Martinelli's £55.7m move to Al-Hilal is expected to be confirmed shortly.
Bartishvili completes Arsenal move
Images began circulating online of Bartishvili arriving in London on Wednesday for his Arsenal medical, having agreed a five-year deal with the Gunners. The 17-year-old Georgian has been dubbed 'the next Khvicha Kvaratskhelia', and can be deployed both as a winger and creative midfielder.
However, despite completing his transfer, Bartishvili will not join up with the Arsenal squad fully until he turns 18 in March 2027. The north Londoners reportedly beat the likes of Juventus and Liverpool to his signature by agreeing a deal worth €4.5m (£3.85m).
Bartishvili has already shared a message to everyone commenting on his Arsenal move, writing on Instagram: "A very big thank you to everyone for the congratulations."
Martinelli's record sale nears completion
Martinelli's move to Al-Hilal is expected to be confirmed shortly. The 25-year-old is set to join the Saudi Pro League side from Arsenal in a deal worth £55.7m plus £4.3m in add-ons, marking a club record sale.
Martinelli, despite initially wanting to stay at the Emirates, agreed to the move and underwent his medical on Wednesday. According to The Athletic, he will sign a four-year contract at the Riyadh-based club.
The transfer is expected to be announced shortly as, unlike the Premier League transfer window which shut on September 1, Saudi clubs have until September 6 to complete their business. Since joining Arsenal from the Brazilian fourth-tier back in 2019, Martinelli has helped the Gunners win the FA Cup, Premier League and Community Shield three times, scoring 62 goals and providing 36 assists in 278 matches.
