Alison Hammond's life: boyfriend, London home, 11st weight loss
Alison Hammond: boyfriend, London home, weight loss

The Great British Bake Off co-host Alison Hammond has shared details of her life away from the camera, including her relationship with a younger boyfriend, her move to a luxury London home, and an 11-stone weight loss.

Move to London and luxury home

Alison, 51, moved from Birmingham to London two years ago after buying a luxury home in the capital. She has kept much of the property private but shared a photo of her garden on Instagram, showing a large landscaped lawn with a patio.

She wrote: "Feeling very emotional knowing that without all your support and love I wouldn't be looking at this view. This is my new garden I would draw as a child but never dreamed it would be a reality. Thank you."

Her previous Solihull home sold in 2024. A source from Smart Homes told Mail Online: "[The house] nearly sold three times but never completed because of vendors' chains falling through. It has finally completed just shy of the new asking price of £700,000 and is now off the market. The celebrity owner is delighted."

Weight loss and fitness routine

Alison weighed 28 stone at her heaviest and has since lost 11 stone. She changed her lifestyle for health reasons and focuses on eating "everything in moderation". Her mother, Maria, who had type 2 diabetes, was concerned about her health, especially after Alison learned she was pre-diabetic.

She starts her day with a ginger shot before eating sausages, eggs and bacon with her son Aiden. Alison hired personal trainer Ellis Gatfield five years ago, who created a fitness plan focusing on resistance training rather than long cardio sessions.

Ellis told Women's Health that Alison normally does a 30-minute resistance circuit on Mondays and a 30-minute boxing session on Tuesdays. Wednesdays are rest days or low-intensity walks, Thursdays feature a 30-minute kettlebell circuit, and Fridays include 30 minutes of boxing. Weekends are rest days, with possible low-intensity walks.

Alison has decided not to use weight-loss injections. She told Good Housekeeping UK: "I think that, for people who need to use them, they're a good thing - but for me, as soon as I hear any scare story, I get frightened. So I haven't wanted to use them, but that's not to say I wouldn't in the future, and I certainly wouldn't look down on anyone who did."

Relationship with David Putman

Alison has been dating model and massage therapist David Putman, 29, since 2023. She has said little about their relationship but once admitted things are going "really, really, well".

Talking to the Daily Mail, Alison said: "I've always had issues with my boyfriends, this one I don't. We get on really well. We love each other. I never have to worry and second guess how he feels about me. He's wonderful." She added that they have "lovely holidays" where they are "kissing a lot" and that she gets "a lot of massages" thanks to David's "healing hands".

The couple met when Alison booked David for a massage. When their relationship became public, she faced attention over the age gap. She told Good Housekeeping: "I can see how on paper you'd notice the age difference. Yes, I am 22 years older than he is. But if you saw us together, you'd understand. People have said to me, 'We get it now.'"

Alison was previously in a relationship with Noureddine Boufaied, with whom she shares her son Aiden. Their engagement ended in 2014.
