Strictly Come Dancing star Will Best has announced the birth of his first child, a son named Sonny, sharing the initial photographs of the newborn on Instagram. The presenter, 41, confirmed the arrival on Thursday (October 15), following his earlier pregnancy announcement made while competing on the BBC One dance competition.
Pregnancy Reveal During Strictly Run
Will, who has been appearing on the ballroom show in recent weeks, disclosed his fiancée Tobi Rose's pregnancy in an Instagram post reflecting on his summer, just before Strictly's 2026 series launched last month. The couple, together for nearly 15 years, got engaged during a trip to Italy in 2024.
In his "summer dump" post, a collection of photographs from a holiday in Sicily, rehearsals and other life moments, one mirror selfie showed Will with his hand on Tobi's baby bump, captioned "Baby, Will? !".
Sonny Best Arrives
Will, best known as co-host of Big Brother, shared a series of photographs of his newborn son, starting with a video jokingly showing a "really cool new thing I got today" before revealing the baby. The images included adorable shots of Will and Tobi holding Sonny, as well as one of the infant in a car seat carrier wrapped in a pale yellow blanket with the word "lovely" stitched on it.
In the caption, Will wrote: "Well who do we have here then? ! Welcome to the world Sonny Best, you little smasher. @tobiroseofficial you're a miracle and I love you so much. A couple of tired new parents (see last slide) but oh my goodness aren't we lucky."

The comments section was filled with congratulations, including from Will's professional dance partner Dianne Buswell, who welcomed her first child earlier this year. She said: "Yay I'm so happy for you and Tobi. And Bowie is so excited to meet little Sonny."
Fellow contestant John Nellis responded: "Congratulations mate, absolute warrior dancing on top of it all." Strictly host Josh Widdicombe wrote: "Holy moly! ! ! ! Congratulations mate!" Hits Radio co-host Fleur East posted: "Awww yay! ! ! Welcome Sonny Best! So excited for you! Congratulations to you and Tobi. Hope you're all doing well.
