The Troon RNLI Lifeboat crew held their annual Open Day on Harbour Road, with glorious weather on Saturday, July 18. Families were given permission to 'come aboard' and enjoy a range of activities.
Meet the Crew and Explore Lifeboats
A spokesperson for the Troon RNLI Lifeboat crew said: “Throughout the day both locals and visitors to Troon took the opportunity to meet our station’s volunteer crew, fundraisers and retail volunteers, explore our lifeboat station and see aboard our lifeboats, learning more about the RNLI’s lifesaving work.”
The event also featured strong engagement with the RNLI Water Safety Team, RNLI Lifeguards Scotland Team, and all emergency services.
Gratitude to Supporters
The spokesperson added: “Thank you to everyone who came along to the Open Day. As a charity we rely on the generosity of the public in order to save lives at sea and we are grateful for your continued support.”
Thanks were also extended to colleagues from emergency services, organisations, businesses, and individuals who donated or assisted on the day.
Volunteer Effort
“Finally once again thanks to all the volunteers from the lifeboat station that made the day such a success by assisting throughout the day; the lifeboat crew, shore crew, launch authorities, fundraisers, retail volunteers, the water safety team and management group.”
The spokesperson concluded: “Behind every successful Open Day is another team of volunteers. After a short break, the Open Day team will once again start the behind-the-scenes work so that we can bring you another Open Day next year!”
