MP Praises Barrio Fiesta at Strathclyde Park

Motherwell, Wishaw and Carluke MP Pamela Nash has commended the organisers of the Barrio Fiesta event held at Strathclyde Park at the end of June. The festival celebrated Filipino culture, music, and food, drawing attendees despite overcast skies and the threat of rain.

Festivities and Attractions

The day featured a variety of market stalls offering Filipino food, produce, and services, alongside live cultural music and dance performances throughout the afternoon. The event was part of a series of Barrio Fiestas taking place across the UK this summer, including in London, Liverpool, and Birmingham.

MP's Remarks

Nash said: “What a pleasure it was to visit and enjoy the Barrio Fiesta taking place in our very own constituency! Not even the threat of rain and a gloomy sky could dampen the spirit and joy of the day, which was just awash with colour and fun. I had a wonderful afternoon enjoying Filipino music and food and learning more about the culture and its traditions. A massive well done and thank you to the organisers and everyone involved in such a successful event.”
