Amanda Owen Stressed Over Renovation in Our Farm Next Door

Our Farm Next Door star Amanda Owen appears to feel the pressure as she makes a candid confession moments into the programme. In a repeat episode from series three of Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids, which airs tonight (Friday 19 June), work progresses on the farmhouse renovation as builder Richard begins plastering the interior walls and joiner Dan delivers and installs the bespoke doors.

As the project advances, Amanda starts to experience the pressure of the ambitious build, particularly when making crucial design decisions for the kitchen, which proves to be amongst the most demanding aspects of the renovation. Juggling contemporary practicality with stringent historical preservation requirements, Amanda expressed her bewilderment, confessing she was uncertain where things would go.

When asked where she would prefer a particular socket to be positioned, the mother of nine placed her hands on her hips and said: "I don't know, I'm beginning to start feeling really stressed about this," reports the Mirror.

Speaking directly to the camera, she then said: "I don't want to start throwing impossible ideas around. I mean, the whole project looked impossible from the start, so I think I've done well!"

Restoration of Anty John's Farm

Broadcast on Channel 4, the spin-off series from Our Yorkshire Farm follows the Owen family as they undertake the ambitious restoration of a long-abandoned farmhouse in the Yorkshire Dales. The project focuses on a centuries-old property known locally as Anty John's, which has deteriorated after years of neglect.

Perched high above Swaledale, the historic building occupies a cherished position in the area's heritage, and the Owen family is resolute in their mission to restore it to its former glory.

Throughout the programme, audiences witness the ambitious renovation unfold as builders, family members and local craftspeople collaborate to revive the structure while safeguarding its authentic character. From reconstructing walls and fixing roofs to fitting contemporary facilities, the undertaking proves both challenging and fulfilling.

Behind the Scenes at Ravenseat

Meanwhile, beyond the construction site, the programme continues to chronicle daily life on the family's nearby farm, Ravenseat. As always, farming remains an all-consuming endeavour, with cameras documenting everything from lambing season to the everyday trials of tending to livestock.

The show arrives as the Owen family embarks upon a fresh chapter, with their children assuming greater duties and becoming increasingly engaged in both farming operations and the restoration venture.
