Tony Germano, the Brazilian voice actor known for his work on Netflix's Go, Dog, Go!, has died at the age of 55 after falling at his home in São Paulo. The accident occurred while he was inspecting roof renovations, according to local media reports.
Germano's representative confirmed his death on Wednesday, November 26, in a statement to People magazine. 'It is with deep sorrow that we confirm the passing of actor and voice artist Tony Germano,' the statement read. 'Tony suffered a fall at his residence and, unfortunately, did not survive his injuries.'
In addition to his role in the Netflix animated series, Germano provided Portuguese voice work for Nickelodeon's Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn and Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast. His credits also include The Muppets, the film An Unforgettable Year: Autumn on Amazon Prime Video, and Labyrinth of Lost Boys, where he played Doctor Lauro.
Tributes have poured in from colleagues. Director Matheus Marchetti, who worked with Germano on Labyrinth of Lost Boys, described him as a 'father figure' and 'a soul as generous, as talented, and as endearing as Tony Germano.' Actor Miguel Falabella called him 'an untouchable professional' and a 'gifted actor' in an Instagram tribute.
Germano's representative added: 'Tony leaves behind a legacy of dedication, generosity and immense talent that touched everyone who had the privilege of working with him. His absence will be deeply felt.'
