Actress Vicky McClure, best known for her role as Kate Fleming in the BBC drama Line of Duty, returns to television tonight with her true crime series Britain's Murder Map. The show, which she co-hosts with her husband Jonny Owen, airs on Sky HISTORY at 9pm.
Tonight's episode examines one of Britain's 'biggest miscarriages of justice': the execution of Welshman Timothy Evans in 1950 for murders committed by serial killer John Christie. The couple visit 10 Rillington Place, the site of Christie's crimes, and speak with experts including Edward Fitzgerald CBE KC, who represented the Evans family.
In the episode, Owen describes Christie as a man with 'absolutely no humanity in him, no sympathy, no empathy.' McClure is visibly shocked upon learning the details of the case, exclaiming 'Oh my lord wow.'
