Lidl shoppers have been rushing to stores after discovering that the supermarket's new Cien Spa Moments Shower Foam range is reportedly 'identical' to premium brand Rituals products that cost more than four times as much. Priced at just £2.49, the three-scent collection has gone viral on social media, with beauty enthusiasts urging others to 'run' to their nearest Lidl.
Shoppers Compare Lidl and Rituals
The Spa Moments Shower Foams come in three fragrances: oriental herbs and musk, creamy rose blossom, and woody orange flower. Their minimalist packaging and foaming texture closely resemble Rituals' signature shower foams, which typically retail for around £10.90. The price difference of £8.41 has made the Lidl version an instant hit among budget-conscious consumers.
On TikTok, user @lindsay.martin369 posted: 'Girls, run to Lidl - this smells identical to Cherry Blossom Rituals.' Another shopper, @hcrawf0rd, wrote: 'Might have found the most perfect dupe! I love Rituals Mehr. Run to Lidl!'
Social Media Frenzy
The shower foams gained further traction on Facebook after being shared on the Bargain Lovers UK page. One member commented: 'Oh wow look I will be trying this x.' Another tagged a friend, adding: 'If u see this grab me them all.' A third confirmed: 'The yellow is the exact same.'
Lidl's Cien brand has built a reputation for offering high-quality dupes of major beauty brands, much like rival Aldi. The Spa Moments range is described as having a 'luxurious' foaming lather that leaves skin feeling soft and smooth. Foaming shower gels, which transform from gel to foam on contact with water, are considered more hydrating than standard body washes.
Rituals Offers More Variety
While Lidl's dupes are praised for their resemblance, Rituals still offers a far wider selection of scents, with over 200 signature aromas including Ayurveda, Karma, Jing, and Yozakura. Lidl's range is limited to just three fragrances for now.
Beyond beauty, Lidl has also launched a budget-friendly ice cream maker. The Silvercrest Premium Ice Cream Maker, priced at £69.99, is seen as a dupe for the Ninja Creami, which costs up to £250. The Lidl version can make ice cream, smoothies, gelato, and sorbet.
Lidl's Cien Spa Moments Shower Foams are available in stores now, though stock levels may vary by location.
