GTA 6 Leakers Claim to Have Copy of Game, Taunt Rockstar with New Clips
GTA 6 Leakers Claim to Have Game Copy, Taunt Rockstar

More Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay has leaked online, with a group of hackers known as Cyberleeks claiming responsibility and suggesting they have acquired a copy of the game before its November launch.

New Leaks and Claims of a Playable Build

Yesterday, multiple clips of GTA 6 gameplay appeared online. Cyberleeks said they were behind the leaks as a way to punish Rockstar for deciding to release the game only digitally. Rockstar has confirmed the leaks are legitimate by moving to remove the clips from the internet, but Cyberleeks threatened to keep posting more.

The group has since released two additional clips. The first reportedly shows knife combat similar to Red Dead Redemption 2 and gameplay of protagonist Jason killing a police officer and stealing his car. The second clip, though short, shows a plane flying over a city and ends with Jason firing a gun at a wall, with the bullet holes spelling out the word 'leek'.

How the Leakers Got Access Remains a Mystery

The new clips suggest Cyberleeks has access to a build of the game, though how they obtained it is unknown. Unless the footage is generated by AI, the leak indicates a serious breach at Rockstar, with dire consequences expected for the company. The clips also advertise a cryptocurrency, and Cyberleeks' website reportedly held a poll asking users to vote on what content to leak next by donating money.

One of the poll options was for footage of a plane at daytime, matching the newest leak. More clips could be shared soon. If Rockstar or its parent company Take-Two identifies the people behind Cyberleeks, they could face serious legal trouble for illegally acquiring the game and charging for leaks.

Official Preview Scheduled for Next Week

Rockstar plans to share official information via a Netflix exclusive preview scheduled to air on August 27. The exact contents are unknown, but it is rumoured the preview will be roughly an hour long and span three episodes, potentially revealing many new details.
