Emmerdale trailer hints at Billy Fletcher's death

A new Emmerdale trailer has potentially confirmed another violent death, with Billy Fletcher seen lying in a pool of blood.

Cast exits and a flashforward

Several cast exits have been reported recently, including Nick Miles (Jimmy King), Olivia Bromley (Dawn Taylor), Bradley Johnson (Vinny Dingle), Jack Downham (Noah Dingle), and Caroline Harker (Doctor Caitlin Todd). Dr Todd is the only character confirmed to be killed off, revealed through a flashforward sequence.

The new trailer suggests major danger for Billy Fletcher, played by Jay Kontzle.

Dawn and Gabby's rivalry

Billy's new relationship with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) has sparked jealousy in Dawn. After discovering the romance, Dawn suggested keeping it low-key to avoid confusing children Clemmie, Lucas, and Evan. In a recent episode, Dawn privately spoke to Billy about Gabby's concerning relationship with food. When Gabby found out, she assumed Dawn was trying to sabotage her relationship.

Seeking revenge, Gabby planted paranoia in Joe Tate's (Ned Porteous) mind, claiming Dawn isn't over Billy. This will play on Joe's mind in upcoming scenes.

Joe's threat and Billy's fate

A trailer shows Joe growing worried about Dawn's eyes wandering. 'Billy’s going to have to watch his back,' Joe says, moments before Billy is seen lying in a pool of blood. Joe is capable of dark actions when pushed to the limit, but it's unclear if he will organise to have Billy killed to prevent Dawn from leaving him.

It's possible Joe's attempt to get rid of Billy won't work. If Dawn discovers what her soon-to-be husband has done, she could leave the Dales with Billy instead.
