Coronation Street fans believe they have spotted the 'perfect storyline' to reunite former couple Abi and Kevin Webster, as a new plot unfolded this week on the ITV soap.
Kevin Webster, a Weatherfield resident for over 40 years, recently endured a difficult period starting with a cancer diagnosis last year, followed by heartbreak when his wife Abi had an affair with his brother Carl Webster—later revealed to be his nephew, as Debbie Webster had hidden that Carl was her son. Kevin also had to witness them together as a couple after their split.
Kevin hit a low point and went to the Underworld factory roof, where Abi came to his rescue. Although he initially wanted to be left alone, they opened up to each other. Abi explained that while she loved him, she was no longer in love with him as before. Kevin eventually accepted the change and resolved to pull himself together for his and his son Jack's sake. Idris Nazir, Abi's landlord—a fact she only recently discovered—enlisted teenager Brody Michaelis to help with repairs. After taking moisture readings on the walls, Idris panicked at the findings. He went to the hospital to check on Alfie, unaware that Carl had already uncovered the likely cause of Alfie's illness. Abi has since threatened legal action against Idris, while Kevin offered her and Alfie a place to stay with him and Jack.
