Cardiff road closures for Pride Cymru parade this weekend

Motorists have been warned of city centre road closures in Cardiff this weekend as the annual Pride Cymru march takes place. The parade will run from 11am until 2.30pm, with roads closed during setup and throughout the event.

Parade Route

The parade starts in Westgate Street, then proceeds along Castle Street, High Street, and St Mary Street. It continues into Mill Lane, The Hayes, and John Street, then along Park Place into Greyfriars Road, to Kingsway, then Duke Street, finishing back in Castle Street.

Full List of Road Closures

Castle Street

Castle Street from the junction with Westgate Street, Duke Street, and Kingsway to the junction with North Road will be closed from 6am to midnight for setup and takedown.

Cowbridge Road East

Cowbridge Road East from the junction with Cathedral Road will be accessible for residents, buses, and taxis only from 6am to 8am and from 2.30pm to midnight.

Central City Streets

Westgate Street, Quay Street, Guildhall Place, Golate, High Street, and St Mary Street will be closed from 8am until 2.30pm and reopened when safe.

Additional Closures from 10am to 2pm

  • Wood Street, Central Square, Park Street, Havelock Street, and Scott Road
  • St Mary Street from Wood Street junction, Mill Lane, The Hayes, John Street, Queen Street, Park Place, and Greyfriars Road from Boulevard De Nantes junction through to Kingsway

Bus Diversions

Cardiff Bus advises that from 11am until 1.15pm buses will divert to satellite points as for large events at Principality Stadium. Diversion points are Churchill Way (east), Greyfriars Road (north), and Tudor Street (west). The bus interchange remains open via Tudor Street/Wood Street.
