Podcaster and former I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! star Vogue Williams has revealed that managing family logistics is the most difficult part of parenting her four children, and hopes a new digital calendar will help her, husband Spencer Matthews and their nanny coordinate their schedules.
Vogue, 41, shares four children with former Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews, 38: Theodore, seven, Gigi, six, Otto, four, and Remy Valentine, who arrived last month. Since then, both have continued to work on their various media projects.
Hardest part of motherhood
Speaking on an episode of the podcast she co-hosts with her sister Amber, called Vogue & Amber, Vogue confessed that the hardest part was keeping track of everything to do with the children.
She said: "As a mother of four, and I know lots of people are mothers of four, I would say the one, most difficult thing, I'm finding is the logistics of everything."
She added: "We have four parties this weekend, four, and so whenever the parties come in, I straight away buy the present and it gets wrapped and it gets put upstairs and put away so we're ready for the party."
Digital calendar solution
Vogue acknowledged that while they can be highly organised when another party invitation arrives, there's an enormous amount to manage. She continued: "And it's all written down, but then we might mess up the date or something like that."
Her solution is a massive digital calendar featuring all the family's individual and group engagements. She explained: "We have a nanny here and she doesn't...we haven't synced up diaries, so this is how everything is going to be synced. So Spenny can see I'm up here doing a podcast...In future, somebody will be there to hold the baby when...so everybody's in the calendar."
She added: "And you can put all things that you have to remember, like you need to go and buy this for this person and like this person's doing hockey this day. I think it's going to change my life."
Spencer's system
Husband Spencer has also addressed the immense change, speaking to fellow media personality Jamie Laing on his Great Company podcast about the system he and Vogue had to develop soon after the baby was born.
He said: "We have four kids, so there needs to be a system in place for us both to be out of action, for us to have big broken sleep is unhelpful to the rest of the family flow."
He added: "So right now, the system is Vogue and baby sleep in a big room, double bed on their own, and Vogue manages the night feed and does that just her and the child."
He concluded: "We don't sleep next to each other. I'm out. I'm working. Vogue's more at home at the moment. I come home in the evening, and we might have an hour together."
