Stacey Solomon's Easy 3-Ingredient Playdough Recipe for Bank Holiday Fun
Stacey Solomon's Easy Playdough Recipe for Bank Holiday

Loose Women star Stacey Solomon has shared a simple homemade playdough recipe to help keep the kids entertained during the Bank Holiday weekend and over half-term. The former X-Factor contestant and I'm A Celebrity Queen of the Jungle turned to Instagram's story feature to share her guidance.

Easy Three-Ingredient Playdough

Stacey, who is a mum to five children of her own and a stepmother to her husband Joe Swash's son from a previous relationship, began a video by giving each of her three youngest a large mixing bowl. She then spooned out a cup of cornstarch into each bowl, followed by half a cup of washing-up liquid, which her little ones promptly tipped in.

Stacey subsequently gave each child a spatula, letting them blend the two ingredients together before adding a modest amount of food colouring of their choosing and stirring the mixture until it achieved the right consistency.

Displaying a finished batch she'd prepared earlier, Stacey explained: "Keep rolling it in your hands and then it will go the colour you have put in." She wrapped up by showing off her kids' creations: "They look so good. The more washing up liquid you put it, the more stretchy it seems to go."

In a follow-up post, the former Loose Women panellist declared in a caption: "This is so easy to make and the pickles love doing it."

Family Updates

Earlier this month, Stacey posted a rare update about her son Leighton as he marked his 14th birthday. The star shared a photo of him grinning at the camera with thumbs up, standing in front of a birthday cake and presents. "Now it is time to celebrate Leighton," she said. "He doesn't like a big fuss and he hates pictures so this is a rare one he liked. It's Arsenal and a takeaway for our 14-year-old incredible little man. We love you to the moon and back Leighton."

Stacey continued: "You are literally sunshine. We are never not laughing together. Happy birthday Leight." The heartfelt message concluded with two white heart emojis.

Meanwhile, following Arsenal's historic Champions League final qualification - their first in 20 years - after defeating Spanish club Atletico Madrid, Stacey shared a further update. The beaming mum wrote: "Best birthday ever. Leighton is so happy and so is the whole family to be honest. Well done Arsenal."
