A 14-year-old pupil has been arrested following a knife incident at Haute Vallée secondary school in Jersey. The incident occurred in the school canteen at the end of lunchtime, leaving one student with a minor hand injury.

Headteacher Stuart Hughes confirmed the incident in a statement to parents, praising staff for their swift and decisive action to restrain the teenager. Police arrived shortly after and the 14-year-old was arrested. Hughes described the event as 'extremely rare' and assured parents that everyone is safe.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage of the incident. Year 7 students received additional reassurance and support in a separate assembly. The school remains open as normal, with wellbeing support available for students and staff in the coming days.
