Emmerdale: Joe Tate's Wedding Day Drama Continues After Dawn Flees

Emmerdale fans have just witnessed the scales fall from Joe Tate's (Ned Porteous) eyes as nemesis Caleb Miligan (William Ash) made it quite clear that his big day would not be going as planned. Joe, as fans know, was all set to wed fiancé Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley), who is pregnant with his baby. The ruthless businessman has somewhat softened since Dawn came into his life, and it's clear he can picture a future with her, telling a number of the villagers that he's never been this happy.

Little did Joe know, however, that wife-to-be Dawn reckons he's a monster, believing that he's behind the attack on her ex Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) last month. Kev Barton (Chris Coghill) was the real culprit, and when Billy found out he kept shtum, powering through with the plan to get Dawn and the kids away from sinister Joe once and for all.

Caleb's Revelation

When Caleb got wind of their plot to scarper, he wanted in, determined to ensure that Joe loses everything he holds dear. Caleb still holds a grudge against Joe, who took one of his kidneys last year in a bid to save his own life.

As Joe regaled those in the Woolpack about how happy he is, Caleb couldn't help but reveal that the supposedly best day of his life was going to be anything but, just as Dawn, Billy and the kids hightailed it out of the village.

What Happens Next

The question is: after that mouthwatering cliffhanger, what happens next? The bad news is that Emmerdale is sadly not on tomorrow night, meaning viewers will have to wait until Wednesday (September 26) to get the next fill of village drama. And with the aftermath of this episode on the table, viewers can expect the wait to be worth it.

When Emmerdale returns to screens on Wednesday, the drama continues on what was meant to be Joe and Dawn's wedding day. Caleb revels in revealing how Dawn has fled the village with Billy, Clemmie and Lucas. The realisation dawns on Joe, and Caleb takes great delight in knowing his arch nemesis can do nothing to stop it as his life falls apart before his very eyes.

Joe's Reaction

Determined to torment Joe, Caleb reveals Billy has taken Dawn, her unborn baby, Clemmie and Lucas somewhere he'll never find them. The question is: how will Joe react? And, despite what Caleb thinks, is Joe really powerless to alter the situation?

Emmerdale airs these scenes Wednesday August 25 at 8pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX or YouTube.
