Ayrshire College has honoured more than 150 students for developing the skills, ambition and resilience that local employers rely on, during its annual Excellence Awards.
Ceremonies Across Campuses
The awards were held across the college's Kilwinning, Ayr and Kilmarnock campuses, highlighting students enrolled on full-time and short-term courses ranging from foundation to advanced level technical skills. These learners are progressing into jobs, further training and higher study, strengthening key sectors across the region and supporting long-term economic growth.
Recognition of Achievement
The awards reflect Ayrshire College's role as a key partner to industry, preparing people with the practical skills, confidence and work-ready attitudes that employers value. From workshops and placements to real world projects, students gain experience that translates directly into the workplace.
The ceremonies were hosted by Principal and Chief Executive Angela Cox and Vice Principal Sara Rae, bringing together students and staff to recognise achievement that goes beyond qualifications, celebrating effort, resilience and readiness for work. Each curriculum area selected one student from each course group based on performance, progress and commitment throughout the academic year.
Employability and Progression
The awards also recognised positive contribution to college life and the development of skills that support employability and progression. Johnnie O'Byrne, Curriculum Quality Manager at Ayrshire College, said: "These awards celebrate the dedication, professionalism and outstanding achievements our students have demonstrated throughout the year. Their success highlights the real impact of investing in skills and education. Equipped with the knowledge, confidence and practical experience employers value, our students are ready to make a meaningful contribution to the workforce and the wider economy."
Ms Cox added: "Ayrshire College exists to support people, employers and communities to succeed. Our students are the future workforce of Ayrshire. They have shown determination, ambition and the ability to adapt, and they are exactly the people local industries need to grow and thrive."
