The family of missing British tourist Joshua Kershaw have spoken of their heartbreak after discovering that the 21-year-old had been dead for a week in Thailand before his body was found. Joshua, from Grimsby, Lincolnshire, flew to Bangkok on January 12 for a holiday but stopped responding to calls from his mother, Jenny.
His family believed he had travelled to Pattaya, but police later confirmed he never left Bangkok. Hotel staff found his body in his room on January 14, with a bandage around his arm. The family only learned of his death on January 20 after reporting him missing.
Joshua's aunt, Jade Kershaw, described him as a 'cheeky chap' who loved to travel. She said the family is now working to bring his body back to the UK, with a GoFundMe page set up to cover costs. The cause of death remains unknown pending a post-mortem.
