500 Teens Swarm School Board Member's House Party After Address Leaked

Hundreds of teenagers descended on an Arizona school board member's home after his address was leaked on social media, turning a small birthday gathering into a chaotic scene of underage drinking and police intervention.

Dr Matthew Pittinsky, a member of the Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board, was hosting a small party for his son when around 500 teens arrived at his Paradise Valley property. Police responded at around 9pm local time following reports of underage drinking and a large gathering.

One neighbour described the scene to AZFamily: 'There were girls twerking and not a lot of clothes on. We saw cans, beer cans on the road, police cars.' Police documents obtained by AZFamily revealed that one teenager was taken to hospital for suspected alcohol poisoning.

When questioned, the teens denied drinking or bringing alcohol. Pittinsky told police he had hired security to confiscate any alcohol brought to the event. The crowd was dispersed, and no charges were filed.

Pittinsky said the party was meant to be invite-only, but his address was shared online after another party was shut down. He told AZFamily: 'Apparently, another party was shut down and those teens used social media to learn about and proceed to our house.' He added that he took 'every precaution' and cooperated with police to safely end the gathering.

Pittinsky, whose term on the school board began this year and runs until 2028, believes the incident was 'distorted and weaponised' because of his position.
