A large-scale emergency operation is underway in the rugged terrain of the Scottish Highlands after three young boys failed to return from a camping expedition.
The trio, identified as 12-year-old Reuben, 14-year-old Ethan, and 16-year-old Jay, were last seen in the Glenmore area, near the popular tourist town of Aviemore, on Friday evening. They were reported missing to Police Scotland when they did not return home as expected.
Major Search Operation Launched
Police Scotland has confirmed that multiple resources have been deployed in the urgent hunt for the youngsters. The search effort includes:
- Specialist police search units
- Highland Mountain Rescue teams
- Search and rescue dogs
- The HM Coastguard helicopter
The operation is focused on the vast and often challenging landscape around Glenmore and the Cairngorm Mountains, an area known for its rapidly changing and severe weather conditions.
Appeal for Public Assistance
Authorities are urgently appealing to the public for any information that could assist in locating the three boys. A spokesperson for Police Scotland stated: "We are growing increasingly concerned for Reuben, Ethan, and Jay. We are asking anyone who was in the Glenmore area last night or this morning, who may have seen three boys, to please come forward immediately."
They are also urging local residents and tourists to check any outbuildings, sheds, or holiday homes in the area in case the boys have sought shelter.
The families of the missing teenagers are being supported by specialist officers as the anxious wait for news continues. The community is holding its breath, hoping for the safe return of the three young campers.
