The community of Helensburgh is in mourning following the tragic and unexplained death of an 11-year-old schoolgirl in a suspected drug-related incident.
A Mother's Heartbreaking Vigil
Olivia Curley, a pupil at Hermitage Academy, passed away on Monday, 17 November, at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. Her mother, Samantha, was at her bedside when she died.
In a devastating social media post written from the hospital, Samantha Curley vowed that 'justice will be done' for her daughter. She addressed those responsible directly, stating: 'I don't need to say anything other than you all have my daughters blood on your hands.'
She described Olivia as her 'strength' and promised to look after the girl's younger sister, adding that she would 'never get over this.'
Police Investigation Underway
The tragedy unfolded after Olivia was 'taken unwell' at her home in Helensburgh on Sunday, 16 November. She was rushed to hospital and placed in the intensive care unit, but sadly succumbed to her condition the following day.
Police Scotland confirmed they received a report of the incident and are treating the death as unexplained. A spokesperson stated that inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the schoolgirl's death.

Argyll and Bute Council expressed devastation at the loss of one of its pupils. A council spokesperson confirmed that support is being offered to Olivia's family, friends, and staff and pupils at Hermitage Academy.
