South Australian police have launched an urgent large-scale search operation for three-year-old Gus, who vanished from a remote property near Yunta, approximately 200 kilometres northeast of Adelaide.
The toddler was last seen around 1:30 PM on Tuesday near Yunta, a small outback town with a population of just over 100 people. The disappearance has triggered a massive emergency response as authorities race against time and dropping temperatures.
Desperate Search Underway
Police have confirmed that multiple resources have been deployed to the area, including:
- Specialist search and rescue teams
- Police helicopters with thermal imaging equipment
- Local volunteers and community members
- Mounted police units
- Four-wheel drive response teams
The search operation is being treated with extreme urgency due to the child's young age and concerning weather conditions, with overnight temperatures expected to drop significantly in the region.
Family's Heartbreaking Plea
Gus's family have made an emotional appeal for any information that could help locate their son. "We are desperately worried about our little boy," a family spokesperson stated. "He's only three years old and the conditions out here can be very harsh, especially at night."
