Three people have been taken into custody in the United States after a disturbing discovery by police, who found five young children and three dogs living in a car overflowing with rubbish and drug-related items.
Shocking Discovery in Vehicle
Officers in Vancouver, Washington State, made the grim find during an incident on Tuesday, 2nd December 2025. The vehicle, described as being packed with trash, was also the living quarters for the children, aged between five and 13 years old. Authorities reported clear signs of neglect concerning the youngsters' welfare.
During the investigation, methamphetamine was found on one of the suspects, and it was admitted that the powerful opioid fentanyl was also present inside the car. The combination of hazardous drugs and squalid living conditions prompted immediate action to safeguard the children.
Children and Animals Taken to Safety
The five children were immediately removed from the scene. They were placed into the protective care of Child Protective Services and were taken to a local hospital for a full medical and welfare evaluation.
Animal Control officers were called to deal with the three dogs also found in the vehicle. Tragically, the animals were found to be in poor health. Two of the dogs were severely underweight, and a third was suffering from an untreated tumour. The condition of the dog with the tumour was so severe that veterinary professionals made the decision to euthanise it.
Suspects Face Multiple Serious Charges
The three individuals arrested in connection with the case have been identified as Natalie Gebron, Zachariah Edwards, and Corleone Lewis. They now face a series of criminal charges.
The charges are expected to include:
- Endangerment with a controlled substance.
- Animal cruelty.
- Further offences related to the neglect and living situation.
The case has highlighted severe issues of child welfare and animal protection, leading to a multi-agency response. The investigation by Vancouver Police is ongoing as they work to establish the full timeline of events leading up to the discovery.
