Reece Buttery, 24, who starred as Mo Michaels in the CBBC series The Dumping Ground, has taken on a new job as a bouncer at a nightclub in Lowestoft, East Suffolk. His appearance has changed drastically since his childhood acting days.
From Child Star to Bouncer
Buttery first gained fame about eleven years ago when he appeared in The Dumping Ground, a spin-off of the Tracey Beaker series. The show was popular with children and propelled the then-11-year-old to stardom. After the show ended in 2016, he continued acting, taking roles in films and soaps such as Holby City, and played the main character in the television adaptation of Gangster Granny.
Since 2021, however, Buttery has not been seen in new roles, seemingly stepping away from the limelight. Now he works as a bouncer, a role far removed from his child-friendly image.
New Look Revealed on TikTok
In a recent TikTok post, Buttery showed his new appearance while dancing on a bar at Mossys nightclub to Rihanna's 2006 hit song "SOS." He was seen singing to the camera and pointing at it as he enjoyed himself on the dancefloor.
His look has changed significantly: gone are his thick-framed glasses and long hair, replaced by much shorter hair and a thick moustache. He captioned the video: "Door staff can be fun too."
Fans React
Fans expressed surprise in the comments. One wrote: "No way is Mo, Robbie and Ben now a bouncer!" Another added: "OMG, it's Mo!" while a third said: "Imagine being banned from the club by Mo." Despite the career change, Buttery's social media bio still describes him as an "actor, comedian and DJ."
