A 13-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman in her 50s was found dead at a house in Swindon. Wiltshire Police responded to reports of a disorder in Baydon Close, Moredon, at around 7pm on Friday evening.
Officers arrived to find the woman not breathing, with no other reported injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.
The teenage girl was taken into police custody for questioning. Detective Inspector Darren Ambrose of the major crime investigation team confirmed that police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
“This is a serious incident in which a woman has sadly died. We have set up a cordon at the address while an investigation is carried out,” DI Ambrose said. He urged the public not to speculate on the circumstances and to speak to officers if they have any concerns.
