Two women were detained by security at Moscow's Sheremetyevo International Airport after they were spotted running across the tarmac in a desperate attempt to catch their departing Aeroflot flight. The incident, captured on camera on July 25, shows the pair hobbling in high heels as the plane began to taxi backwards.

The women tried to get the attention of ground staff, and one worker spotted them before immediately alerting others via radio. They were promptly escorted back to the terminal and handed over to officers of the Federal Security Service (FSB).
According to local news outlets, the airport confirmed that the women had passed through all pre-flight security checks and were in the 'sterile' zone at the time of the incident. The Sheremetyevo press service stated: 'The passengers violated security requirements and entered the additional restricted area without authorization. The violation was detected by airport staff on duty.'

The press service added: 'The passengers were immediately detained and handed over to officers of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. Law enforcement agencies are taking legal action against these individuals. The incident did not pose a threat to flight or passenger safety.'
