Women Chase and Slash Man in Milford Haven Attack

Two women chased a man through a house in Milford Haven, slashing him with knives, with one being the mother of his child. Demi Oliver, 26, and Kelly Rees, 36, were at a property in Precelly Place with Warren Harper when neighbors reported hearing loud voices and music after a night of drinking.

All three were acquainted and lived nearby, with Oliver and Harper having previously been in a relationship and sharing a child. During the assault on July 27, 2024, Harper was chased through the property and barricaded himself in the bathroom as both women hammered on the door.

Attack Details and Injuries

Prosecution barrister Dean Pullen told Swansea Crown Court that Harper tried to leave but saw Rees, who had taken crack cocaine, standing in the kitchen with a knife. As he reached for his bag, Rees cut his wrist with a Stanley knife. Oliver, wielding a separate knife, also slashed him.

Harper fled upstairs and considered jumping from a window but deemed the drop too great. He returned downstairs and forced his way out while bleeding profusely. He was taken by ambulance to Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest with stab wounds to his wrist and arm, requiring surgery.

Sentencing

Oliver and Rees pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and appeared for sentencing on Wednesday. Barristers David Singh and Ian Ibrahim presented mitigating circumstances, but Judge Huw Rees warned both would receive immediate custodial sentences despite the offence occurring two years ago.

Judge Rees said: "The victim sustained very serious injuries, not a nick causing a superficial injury. They were two significant wounds to the victim's left wrist and arm." Oliver, of Precelly Place, Milford Haven, received a 17-month prison sentence. Rees, of Waterloo Road, Hakin, already serving time for a robbery in Milford Haven, received an additional 27-month custodial sentence.
