The 911 audio from the fatal alligator attack on Brittany Clark, 31, has been released, revealing the frantic moments when her boyfriend, Chance Allison, called for help as the reptile severed both her arms in a death roll. The incident occurred on Sunday in the Little Big Econ State Forest in central Florida.
Attack Details
Brittany Clark was swimming with her boyfriend, Chance Allison, and a friend in the Econlockhatchee River around 1:30 p.m. when an alligator grabbed her and performed a death roll, a hunting technique used to subdue prey by rotating underwater. According to a medical examiner's report obtained by the Daily Mail, the group was in shoulder-deep water when the attack began.
The audio recording captures Allison telling the 911 dispatcher that he was still trying to get Clark's arms away from the alligator's mouth. Moments later, he reported that both her arms were off. The friend on scene described one arm as hanging by a thread, and when asked about the other, replied, 'Gone.'
Desperate Rescue Attempt
Chance Allison described the attack as 'bad, real bad' and pleaded for emergency personnel to hurry. He told the dispatcher that the alligator eventually went away, but Clark had suffered horrible injuries. He and the friend pulled her from the water and began CPR on shore. The dispatcher instructed them to flag down a helicopter if seen.
According to the medical examiner's report, Allison grabbed the alligator to try to release Clark, but it took them both underwater. He managed to force the predator to release one arm momentarily, but it then clamped down on her opposite arm. The alligator finally let go, and they brought Clark to shore, where CPR was initiated.
Aftermath and Investigation
Brittany Clark died while being transported to the hospital. Wildlife officials euthanized the alligator responsible and severed its head, retaining it as evidence. The Barr Street Trailhead, a popular hiking trail in the state forest, has been closed indefinitely.
The 911 audio and medical examiner's report provide a harrowing account of Clark's final moments, highlighting the swift and brutal nature of the attack.
