Woman suffers life-changing injuries in Moreton van and bike crash

A woman has sustained life-changing injuries following a serious three-vehicle collision in Moreton this morning. Emergency services responded to reports at approximately 8:15 am on Wednesday, June 17, of a crash involving two Harley Davidson motorcycles and a white Nissan van on Fender Lane.

Two men riding the motorcycles and a woman inside the van were transported to the hospital for medical treatment. In an update provided by Merseyside Police shortly after 5 pm today, a spokesperson confirmed that one man remains hospitalized with serious injuries, while the woman is also receiving treatment for injuries described as life-changing.

The road has since been reopened. Initial reports suggested four vehicles were involved, and police confirmed that a fourth vehicle, a car, was involved but did not make direct contact with any other vehicle.

Emergency services filled the area, and an air ambulance landed nearby following the crash.

Detective Sergeant Simon Duffy from the force's Matrix Serious Collision Investigation Unit stated: “Our thoughts are with those injured during the collision this morning, and we are supporting both those injured and their families. I would also like to thank members of the public who stopped to assist in the immediate aftermath.

He added: “This was a very serious collision, and we are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at around 8:15 am. The road was busy at the time, and I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward immediately. If you were in the area with a dashcam, please contact us so that we can check for anything that may be potentially useful to our investigation.

Officers are particularly interested in speaking to motorists traveling from the roundabout where Fender Lane meets Hoylake Road. Anyone who believes they witnessed any of these vehicles prior to the collision is urged to contact the authorities urgently.
