A woman discovered deceased at a residence in Lewisham has been identified by authorities as 47-year-old Barbara McCann. Officers responding to a welfare concern arrived at an address on Catford Hill at 11:35 AM on Tuesday, June 9.
Upon arrival, police found Barbara at the scene, where she was tragically pronounced dead. Her family is receiving support from specially trained officers. In the days following her death, investigations led police to Hillingdon in west London, where 32-year-old Derek Bradshaw was arrested on suspicion of murder. He has since been formally charged and is scheduled to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court today.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Franklin, who is leading the investigation, stated: “Our thoughts remain with Barbara’s family during this unimaginably difficult time. If you have any information regarding Barbara’s death, no matter how insignificant it may seem, please assist our investigation by contacting us urgently.”
