A young woman was allegedly drugged before being gang raped by four men in a horrific attack that has sparked a police investigation. The suspects remain at large following the incident on Saturday, June 13.
Attack Details
Officials reported that the 24-year-old victim was in a field when she was approached by the men. They drugged her, reportedly raped her, and then fled the scene. After she failed to return home, her family set out to find her and eventually located her in a nearby forested area. She was rushed to hospital for treatment and is believed to be in a stable condition.
Police Investigation
As reported by the Times of India, the alleged attack took place in the Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh. Local police officers, led by Senior Superintendent Sanjay Kumar, have launched an urgent manhunt to track down the attackers. Three police teams have been deployed to find the suspects, and authorities are urging the public to come forward with relevant information.
Police have identified one of the men as Umer, but have not released his surname or identified the other three suspects. The victim had visited the field on Saturday to gather food for livestock when she was approached and attacked.
Victim's Condition
The woman was taken to hospital after being found in the forested area. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.
