A woman has been arrested following the death of a baby girl in Cambridgeshire. Emergency services were called to a property in Oxford Way, Cambourne, at around 7.40am on Saturday after receiving a report of concern for a woman and a baby.
Police response and hospital transfer
Cambridgeshire Police officers attended the scene, and the baby was rushed to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where she was sadly pronounced dead on arrival. The force said the woman has been arrested in connection with the death.
Investigation underway
Detective Inspector Andy Moralee said: "This is a tragic death of a baby girl - a very sad and, we believe, isolated incident. The circumstances remain under investigation, but we are treating her death as suspicious."
The investigation is ongoing, and police have not released further details at this stage.
