A 45-year-old woman from Crynant died in a crash between a motorbike and a car on Sunday afternoon, August 16. Police and paramedics were called to the scene on the A4109 in Neath at around 3pm. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene despite attempts by passers-by to help.
Appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage
Investigating officers are appealing for information, including from witnesses and those with dashcam footage, to assist with their enquiries. The collision occurred close to Cefn Coed Colliery on the A4109.
A South Wales Police spokesperson said: "Officers investigating a road traffic collision involving a motorbike, which occurred close to Cefn Coed Colliery on the A4109 at approximately 3pm on Sunday August 16, are appealing for witnesses or those who may have dashcam footage of the collision or the moments leading up to it to come forward."
Family supported by officers
The motorbike rider, a 45-year-old woman from Crynant, Neath Port Talbot, died at the scene despite the best efforts of those passing the scene and later medical professionals. Her family is being supported by specially-trained officers.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage is asked to contact police on 101, quoting occurrence number 2600268317. The road has since reopened following an investigation into the collision.
