A 26-year-old woman described as having a 'heart of gold' has died suddenly after being found unresponsive at her Leeds home.
Jojo Arkless was rushed to hospital after her girlfriend found her unresponsive. She had experienced a sudden brain aneurysm and tragically died on September 7 despite medical staff doing everything possible.
Family's heartbreak
Her loved ones said they were told there was 'nothing they could have done to save her'. Jojo's cousin Kylie Pybus said: "She was only 26, nobody knew this aneurysm was there.
"But they said there was absolutely nothing we could have done to save her. She'd help anyone, she had a heart of gold.
"If you wanted her to come round and give you a cuddle at one o'clock in the morning she would. That's the kind of person she was. She'd give you the last pound in her pocket. She was really fun, bubbly, she just generally enjoyed life."
Fundraising campaign
In an effort to support Jojo's immediate family, Kylie has launched a fundraising campaign to assist with funeral costs, helping Jojo's mum cover the expenses, reports Leeds Live.
Kylie explained: "Her mum had not set up life insurance or anything for her because we wasn't expecting it.
"With her being so young, no one ever thought they'd have to bury her daughter at that age. So it's just a little help to get her a nice send-off, and just say goodbye in a nice way."
Health warning
Kylie also wants to encourage people to seek medical attention if they experience any symptoms of an aneurysm. These can include headaches, pain above the eye, facial weakness, weakness or numbness down one side of the body, speech difficulties and blurred vision.
"Things like this can affect anyone's family," Kylie said. "It's something unexpected and the message to people is, if you've got headaches, any type of pain in your head whatsoever, please get it checked out. It could eventually save your life."
