Two women chased and slashed man in Milford Haven

Demi Oliver, 26, and Kelly Rees, 36, chased Warren Harper through a house in Precelly Place, Milford Haven, before slashing him with knives. Oliver is the mother of Harper's child.

Neighbors reported hearing loud voices and music after a night of drinking. During the assault on July 27, 2024, Harper fled and barricaded himself in the bathroom while both women hammered on the door.

Attack details

Prosecution barrister Dean Pullen told Swansea Crown Court that Harper tried to leave but encountered Rees, who had consumed crack cocaine, in the kitchen holding a knife. As he reached for his belongings, Rees slashed his wrist with a Stanley knife. Oliver also attacked him with a blade.

Harper then ran upstairs and considered jumping from a window but decided it was too high. He returned downstairs and forced his way out while bleeding profusely. He was taken by ambulance to Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest with knife injuries to his wrist and arm, requiring surgery.

Sentencing

Both women admitted unlawful wounding. At Swansea Crown Court on Wednesday, Judge Huw Rees said: "The victim sustained very serious injuries, not a nick causing a superficial injury. They were two significant wounds to the victim's left wrist and arm."

Oliver, from Precelly Place, Milford Haven, was sentenced to 17 months in prison. Rees, of Waterloo Road in Hakin, already serving time for a robbery in Milford Haven, received an additional 27 months.
