Two men were seriously injured in a crash involving an electric bike on Church Road in Formby, close to the junction with Davenham Road, on Wednesday, September 30. Emergency services attended the scene, and the two men were taken to hospital.
Police statement on the incident
Merseyside Police issued a statement confirming the collision and the injuries, but did not provide details of the time of the incident or the men's conditions. A police cordon was put in place, and motorists were advised to avoid the area.
Road closure and response
The road was closed at the junction with Davenham Road while emergency services dealt with the incident. The road is believed to have reopened since the crash. The Liverpool ECHO has approached Merseyside Police for further information.
A spokesperson for the force said: "We can confirm that emergency services are on Church Road following a road traffic collision involving one electric bike this afternoon, Wednesday 30 September. Two men have been taken to hospital with serious injuries."
The spokesperson added: "A road closure is currently in place on Church Road on the junction of Davenham Road and motorists are advised to avoid the area. Thank you for your patience whilst we deal with this incident."
