Two people arrested after a man was stabbed in Prestwich have been released, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have confirmed.
Police were called to Carrigart, a small cul-de-sac off Bury New Road near St Mary's Park, shortly before 2.30pm on Wednesday (July 22). A man in his 30s was stabbed in the leg. Paramedics took him to hospital for treatment.
Arrests and release
A man and a woman, both in their 30s, were arrested on suspicion of affray. In an update on Thursday, a GMP spokesperson said they have since been de-arrested and released. The victim suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The street was cordoned off into Wednesday evening, with forensics and detectives at the scene. Residents described blood 'splattered' across the grass and pavement.
Residents' shock
A woman who lives on the street, who did not want to be named, said: "It's horrific. My little boy had to come home to a bloodbath and step over it. It's not good." Another resident said he saw 'so much blood' on the walkway. Mohammed, 38, said he feared a fatality when he saw police activity but was relieved when told there had not been.
