Two bikes collide on Dukinfield road; air ambulance called

A main road in Tameside was taped off today (October 11) after a collision between two bikes. Emergency services were called to Wharf Road in Dukinfield just before 2pm following reports of a collision between a motorbike and a scrambler bike, police said.

Photos from the scene show police and the ambulance service in attendance, with two badly damaged bikes on the road. One appears to have collided with a stationary vehicle. An air ambulance could be seen landing nearby, and the road was taped off while officers made enquiries.

Injuries and response

Greater Manchester Police said that one rider was hurt in the collision but that neither sustained life-threatening injuries. The North West Ambulance Service has been approached for more information.
