Two men have been arrested and charged after a defence firm office in Aberdeenshire was vandalised during a break-in. The incident occurred at the Ultra I&C site on Prospect Road, Westhill, with police called at about 9.40am on Sunday.
Social media footage shows damage
Footage posted on social media by activists appeared to show damage inside the office, and Palestine flags could be seen hanging at windows in the building. The two men, aged 39 and 18, were arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
Ultra I&C's role in defence tech
According to the company’s website, Ultra I&C is the “backbone of mission-critical defence tech”. The website said the company “delivers crypto solutions, mission software and tactical communications built to keep operations moving”.
Police statement and court appearance
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.40am, we received a report of vandalism and a break-in at a business premises on Prospect Road, in the Westhill area of Aberdeenshire. Officers attended and two men, aged 39 and 18, were arrested and charged.”
The men are due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday. Ultra I&C has been contacted for comment.
