Twin Babies Found Dead in Bed Were 'Underweight and Dehydrated'

In a tragic incident that has shocked the commune of Beuvrages in northern France, twin 15-month-old girls were found dead in their beds on Monday, June 29. Their parents have been charged in connection with the deaths.

Autopsy Reveals Dehydration and Malnutrition

An autopsy performed on Tuesday, June 30, confirmed that the twins died of dehydration and were also underweight. The parents, who live in social housing managed by the Société immobilière du Grand Hainaut (SIGH), called emergency services after discovering both girls unresponsive around 1pm.

The couple's four other children, aged three, four, five, and six, were also found to be suffering from dehydration. According to RTL, one of these siblings is in critical condition in hospital after being airlifted from the home.

Parents Charged and Siblings Taken into Care

Both parents have been charged by police. Reports from French sources indicate that the twins were found in a state of rigor mortis. The other children have been taken into care.

The local community has been left in shock by the tragedy, which occurred in Beuvrages near Valenciennes. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the deaths.
