Gerard Trojanowski, 44, from the Merthyr Tydfil area, died after being hit by several vehicles on the A40 in Carmarthen. Emergency services were called at around 9.50pm on July 28, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family's tribute
His family paid tribute, saying: “Gerard was a loving husband and father. A wonderful and generous person with a good heart. He will always be in our memories. As a family we ask for privacy during this difficult time.”
Incident details
Dyfed-Powys Police said officers responded following concerns for the safety of a pedestrian. Several vehicles, including a marked police vehicle on patrol, collided with Gerard.
The A40 in Carmarthen remained closed for almost 24 hours after the incident.
Investigation
A mandatory referral was made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), as is statutory in such cases. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to call 101.
