Emergency services were called to Liley Lane at 2:17pm on June 28 after reports of an explosion inside a tipper truck. Five people—four children and one man—suffered severe burns and were rushed to hospital. Police confirmed that the man and one child have life-threatening injuries, while the other three children face life-changing injuries. The Yorkshire Air Ambulance, firefighters, and paramedics attended the scene.

Police Statement and Investigation

West Yorkshire Police issued a statement: "At 2.17pm yesterday, police were called to a report of an explosion in a vehicle at the Hare and Hounds Inn. Emergency services attended and found that five people in the vehicle had suffered serious burns. All were taken to hospital. The man's injuries are believed to be life-threatening, as are one of the children's. The other children have injuries which are believed to be life changing. Enquiries are ongoing, but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances."
