Three people were injured in three separate stabbings across Greater Manchester over the Halloween weekend, prompting police responses in Manchester city centre, Gorton and Bury.
Officers attended the incidents on Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1, as families marked Halloween and went trick-or-treating.
Gorton Stabbing
The first incident occurred on Valance Close in Gorton, where police were called at around 7.20pm on Saturday. A woman was found with stab wounds and taken to hospital, according to Greater Manchester Police.
A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of assault and taken into custody for questioning. A cordon was placed on part of the street, including a grassed area and several houses, with a crime scene investigation van pictured at the scene.
A GMP spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a stabbing at around 7.20pm. A woman was taken to hospital with injuries consistent with stab wounds. A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of assault and taken into custody for questioning. Enquiries are ongoing."

A few hours later, officers were called to Lever Street in Manchester city centre at around 12.20am on Sunday. A man was found with stab wounds and taken to hospital for treatment.
Another man was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and remains in custody for questioning. The GMP spokesperson described the incident as 'isolated', stating: "Officers were called to reports of a stabbing outside a casino in Piccadilly at 12:22am in the early hours of Sunday morning (1 November). Bury Stabbing
In Bury, an 18-year-old male was stabbed on Market Street just before 1am on Sunday. The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The suspect, also 18, was arrested at the scene and has since been bailed, GMP confirmed on Monday, November 2.
Market Street was cordoned off, and witnesses reported seeing forensics investigators at the scene. The incident occurred outside The Bank pub, which said in a Facebook statement: "Due to an incident outside of our venue in the early hours of this morning we are going to be delayed in opening. We will open as soon as possible. Our thoughts are with all those effected by this morning's incident."
