Tesla driver branded 'moron' after parking on Cornwall beach

A driver has been branded a "moron" after driving his Tesla onto a beach in Cornwall and parking it there, only to become stuck in the sand. The incident occurred on Tregirls Beach in Padstow during a heatwave, drawing the attention of locals and tourists alike.

Confrontation on the beach

The white Tesla, which displayed a parking permit for the upmarket Barnes area of southwest London, was driven directly onto the beach, leaving onlookers bewildered. When challenged by a beachgoer from Truro, the driver responded with an expletive-laden dismissal. "I said to him that he can't park on the beach in Cornwall. He then asked me to 'f**k off' and said that he can park wherever he feels like," the witness told Cornwall Live. The driver also shouted at an elderly woman who asked him to move the vehicle.

The vehicle remained on the beach for approximately four hours before the driver attempted to leave. By 5pm, he was still trying to free the car with the help of a local farmer, but ultimately needed to be towed out.

Emergency access route used

The route the driver used to access the beach is typically reserved for emergency services in life-saving situations. Just 24 hours earlier, police and ambulance crews had used the same route to respond to a tragic incident. At around 3.50pm on bank holiday Monday (May 25), officers were called to Tregirls Beach after a man suffered a cardiac arrest in the sea. The man, a local resident in his 60s, had entered the water to rescue two family members, who were brought to safety by members of the public. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The witness added: "Local people have so much on their plate, like these farmers who should not waste time on this moron."
