A person has died after a car struck a group of pedestrians in a grocery store car park in Los Angeles. The crash happened at a Trader Joe's on Thursday afternoon.
Crash details
The Tesla crashed into a security stand, killing one person and sending four to hospital, including the driver. Emergency crews were called to the store at Third Street and Fairfax avenue at around 1.20pm on Thursday.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said one person was pronounced dead at the scene, while four others were treated by emergency services. All four were rushed to hospital.
Driver identified
The driver reportedly lost control of her vehicle, causing her to hit a parked car and the pedestrians before smashing into the security stand, according to NBC. The driver has been described as an 80-year-old woman and has also been taken to hospital.
