Two women have been rushed to hospital after a telegraph pole fell on them in the car park of Pontyclun railway station in Wales. The incident occurred at around 12:50pm on Thursday, July 18, prompting a response from South Wales Police and emergency services, including an air ambulance.

Officers received a call reporting that two women were trapped beneath a telegraph pole at the station. They were quickly freed and taken to the University Hospital of Wales, where they continue to receive medical treatment.
South Wales Police released a statement saying: 'South Wales Police was called at 12:50pm this afternoon (Thursday June 18) to the car park for Pontyclun train station to reports of two women trapped underneath a telegraph pole. The women have been taken to University Hospital of Wales where they continue to receive medical treatment.'
The cause of the pole falling is under investigation. Local residents expressed shock at the incident, which occurred in a busy area near the station entrance.
