CCTV footage has been released by police investigating the murder of a 20-year-old man in Kilburn, north-west London. Malakai Ferguson-Ramson was stabbed to death in Ashmore Road shortly before 9pm on Tuesday, 26 May.
The footage shows dozens of young people fleeing the area around Ashmore Road and Drayford Close, either on bicycles or on foot, with some appearing to trip and fall as they ran from the scene. Detectives believe around 20 potential witnesses are captured in the video and are urging them to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller said: “I would like to reiterate that those pictured are believed to be witnesses. While I understand the challenges that come with talking to police, there are a range of ways to contact us - including completely anonymously. I urge people to put these complexities to one side and instead empathise with the grief Malakai’s loved ones are navigating at this moment in time. The information held by eyewitnesses is vital and could ultimately take us a step closer to securing justice.”
Two arrests have been made in connection with the murder. A 21-year-old man remains in police custody on suspicion of murder, while a 42-year-old man was arrested for conspiracy to murder and has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Police are appealing for anyone who recognises individuals in the footage to contact them on 101 quoting reference 8418/26MAY, or to report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
