A 17-year-old boy died after a horror crash in Fife early on Sunday, July 5, 2026. Police have arrested and charged an 18-year-old man in connection with the incident.
Crash Details
Emergency services responded to a collision on the B914, near its junction with the A823, close to Kelty at approximately 2:25am. The crash involved a yellow Volkswagen Golf and a blue Toyota Aygo.
Paramedics attended the scene, but the driver of the Toyota, a 17-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Arrest and Investigation
The occupants of the Volkswagen were not present when police arrived. Following inquiries, an 18-year-old man was arrested and charged. Police Scotland confirmed that inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
Sergeant Lee Walkingshaw stated: “Our thoughts are with the 17-year-old male who has died. We are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this crash and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened to contact police.”
Appeal for Witnesses
Police are urging anyone with information or dash-cam footage from around the time of the incident to come forward. Sergeant Walkingshaw added: “Anyone with dash-cam footage from around the time of the incident is asked to get in touch as this may be able to assist.”
